Annapurna Base Camp is a 13-day trek that starts from Pokhara, and is popular among both tourists and locals. Situated at an altitude of 4,130 meters, it is also the 10th highest mountain in the world. Although it has various obstacles, such as steep and rugged trekking trails and having to walk for 5 to 6 hours per day, Annapurna Base Camp is considered a moderate trek.
Once you reach the Annapurna Base Camp, you will be treated to breathtaking vistas of some of the world’s highest peaks, including Fishtail, Hiunchuli, Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho, Pisang, and Pungda Danda, among others. The trek also includes stops at the famous Poon Hill viewpoint and a chance to unwind in the natural hot springs of Jhinu Danda.
SHORT ITINERARY
- On Day 1, you will arrive in Kathmandu and be transferred to your hotel.
- On Day 2, you will take a 7-8 hour drive to Pokhara and spend the night in a 3-star hotel.
- Day 3 involves a 2-3 hour drive to Birethanti, followed by a 1-2 hour trek to Ulleri, where you’ll stay overnight in a guesthouse.
- On Day 4, you’ll trek for 5-6 hours to Ghorepani and stay in a guesthouse.
- On Day 5 will include a hike up to Poon Hill (3,210 m/10,531 ft) followed by a 6-7 hour trek to Tadapani, where you’ll spend the night in a guesthouse.
- On Day 6 will involve a 4-5 hour trek to Chomrong, and on Day 7 you’ll trek for 5-6 hours to reach Himalaya and spend the night in a guesthouse.
- On Day 8 is the highlight of the trek, as you’ll trek for 6-7 hours to reach Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m/13,550 ft) and stay overnight in a guesthouse.
- On Day 9, you’ll trek for 6-7 hours to reach Bamboo, where you’ll spend the night in a guesthouse.
- On Day 10 involves a 4-5 hour trek to Jhinu, where you’ll relax in a guesthouse.
- On Day 11, you’ll trek for 3-4 hours to Syauli Bazaar, followed by a 2-3 hour drive to Pokhara, where you’ll spend the night in a 3-star hotel.
- On Day 12 includes a 7-8 hour drive back to Kathmandu, where you’ll spend the night in a 3- star hotel.
- On Day 13, you’ll be transferred to the international airport for your final departure.
